Pregnancy & healthy eating ✨ let’s talk about it. One of the main questions I get daily in this pregnancy is, “are you still plant based?” & the answer is… YES, of course! I found this nourishing and beautiful way of life years ago and now that I am growing a little human inside of me, the answer is an even bigger yes than ever before. It’s such a myth that when we are pregnant we must start eating for two - what’s recommended & healthy is around 300 extra calories a day. I don’t count calories but I know I’m eating plenty more than pre-pregnancy (but not “eating for two”), and also being super mindful of what I put into my body. Eating plant-based during this pregnancy has allowed me to feel amazing and feel like I’m still in there, I’m still me, even though I am growing another little human. It’s been both intuitive & a no brainer for me- and whether you are vegan or not, eating a healthy & nourishing diet during pregnancy is amazing for both mama and baby. What I will say is that I’ve tried lots of foods I wouldn’t normally eat bc my intuition has guided me toward them- a lot more bagels, bread, pasta, etc. for one. Carbs are my BFF right now. So yes I have those cravings but they have been very satisfied in a balanced, plant-based way. Curious other mamas journeys with food & eating during pregnancy?! This is 31 🎉 what a dream to be entering this new chapter and phase of life filled with so much love and joy. I got to celebrate my birthday & baby shower this weekend with the people I love most & I am so filled to the brim it hurts!!! I cannot imagine a better celebration for our little man, surrounded by the most special people in our lives. My wish & intention for this year ahead is to enter this new stage of life with grace and soak in every moment. To be PRESENT for all of the milestones ahead. To be the best mama I can possibly be. & to never take for granted the gift that is this life. I am so thankful for every bit of it all, and for the people close to me for making this time so special. I am in awe. Today I will be reflecting on all of the good that this life is & all that is to come. 💙 #soulonfire

Health is wealth, and food is medicine. 🌈 Who said healthy medicinal food couldn’t also be delicious? 😋 this chickpea chocolate chip cookie dough is something I’ve been making for a lonnggg time & I brought it back today because I wanted a healthy, protein-filled snack. Baby loves it too. Fuel for a day of writing & podcasting… & then resting bc the third trimester is NO JOKE. Moms, am I right?

HEALTHY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE 🍪 DOUGH 👩🏼‍🍳 //
Ingredients:
1 cup chickpeas
1/2 cup tahini
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup pitted dates
1/4 cup water to blend
1/4 cup carob powder or cacao powder
2 Tbsp chopped sugar-free dark chocolate
Preparation:
1. Blend all ingredients except for the dark chocolate, then fold in the chocolate at the end.
2. Add more water if it's hard to blend, or more chickpeas if it gets too runny.

Note: You can add stevia or monkfruit if you like your cookie dough a little sweet. I added a few drops of liquid vanilla stevia.
